Space Foundation Discovery Center Admisson
The Space Foundation Discovery Center features space artifacts and interactive exhibits, plus the dynamic Science On a Sphere. Developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Science On a Sphere is a unique projection system that uses special software, satellite imagery and four projectors to render images that provide dramatic three dimensional views of our Earth, Universe and beyond.
The Discovery Center’s El Pomar Space Gallery exhibit “Launch to the Moon” provides an interesting look at both history and the cultural dynamics of the early “race to the Moon.” The exhibit chronicles the 1959-1976 United States and Soviet Union space race, with focus on the goal to be the first to the Moon.
The Discovery Center is appropriate for all ages, and always changing and growing! Teachers may schedule students for standards-based programs taught by a licensed teacher.
